Take emergency contraception (the morning-after pill) immediately. If taken within 5 days of intercourse, emergency contraception can effectively prevent pregnancy, and the sooner you take it, the better the effect.

Are there any risks with Zero³ Contraceptive Gel?

Zero³ Contraceptive Gel contains the spermicide Nonoxynol-9, and most spermicides also contain this chemical (Nonoxynol-9, or Wangbenchunmi-9). Frequent use may increase the risk of HIV infection. If you experience symptoms such as burning during urination, itching, or pain around the vagina, stop using the gel and consult a doctor.

Can Zero³ Contraceptive Gel prevent HIV/AIDS and other STIs?

Currently, no contraceptive method can achieve 100% effectiveness in preventing pregnancy and completely prevent HIV/AIDS or other sexually transmitted infections. When spermicide is used correctly during each act of intercourse, the contraceptive effectiveness can reach up to 88%; if not used correctly, effectiveness is 72%. Spermicide can be used alone or in combination with condoms to provide additional protection against pregnancy.
